Ellie Bjoernbak

Ellie Bjoernbak is a contemporary artist working across painting, drawing and large-scale murals. Her work lives in the tension between control and release — expansive fields of warm color broken by fast, decisive gesture.

Trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Maren moves fluidly between the intimacy of a charcoal drawing and the architecture of a six-metre wall. Whatever the scale, the instinct is the same: to find the exact moment where a mark stops being paint and starts being feeling.

She works on commission for private collectors and public spaces alike, and exhibits regularly across the Nordic region. Her murals can be found in cafes, offices and on city walls throughout Copenhagen.
